San Francisco Asian Eyelid Surgery
In order to rejuvenate and refresh your facial appearance, you may want to consider cosmetic surgery. Joseph A. Mele, MD, FACS often performs eyelid surgery in the San Francisco Bay Area, at his Walnut Creek and Concord Surgery Centers, to reduce the appearance of “tired-looking” eyes. If you are in need of facial rejuvenation due to sagging skin in the upper eyelids or bags in the lower eyelids, Dr. Mele can perform eyelid surgery (“blepharoplasty”). Since the anatomy of the Asian eyelid differs from the Occidental eyelid, specialized techniques are used for Asian Eyelid Surgery
Asian Eyelid Surgery Before and After Pictures
The intention of Asian Eyelid Sugery include objective goals like getting the eyelid skin out of the visusal field, forming a distinct fold, reducing skin excess and removing bulges from under the eyes. Moreover, there are the subjective goals like appearing rested, alert, younger and more attractive. While these are much more difficult to measure, there are anatomical rules that can make these endpoints more likely to be achieved. Many of these targeted ambitions are achieved and illustrated in the following Asian Blepharoplasty Before and After Pictures.
As someone ages, the delicate skin around the eyes begins to sag and wrinkle. Therefore, in order to correct this, Dr. Mele offers upper and lower eyelid surgery procedures. During your Blepharoplasty, Dr. Mele will remove excess fat and muscle from the upper eyelids and, if necessary, excise fatty tissue from the lower eyelids. The remaining skin is tightened, and the incision is sutured. When performing blepharoplasty, Dr. Mele is also able to improve vision, enhance the appearance of the eyes, and restore a youthful look.
He also offers eyelid surgery specific to the Asian Eyelid. Typically, there is no crease, or a poorly formed crease in Asian eyelids, which can make it hard to apply eye make-up. San Francisco Asian Eyelid Surgery professional Dr. Mele can suture the eyelid to create a more “westernized” appearance or maintain your Asian appearance.
